Over the past year he had referred me to 3 different specialists, each of whom required multiple visits, tests and even futher referrals. I always asked each practitioner to be sure to send their reports to Dr. Crawford to be sure he could monitor my progress. When I next visited the doctor my file had almost 2 inches of reports, none of which he had read. Overwhelmed with the backlog he ´ fired´ me for ´ seeing too many doctors´ and taking too much of his time.
I may be wrong about how medical practices work. I assumed that when a doctor refers a patient to a specialist and requests the resulting reports he will actually read them as they arrive, not a year later. |
