| 1 | 1 | 1 | 8 | 1 | Wirtz gave me a Class II physical for my commercial pilot´ s license and told me to get rechecked by an optometrist and fax him the required forms. When I called to tell him the forms had been faxed he told me he had reported me to the FAA as an alcohol abuser, despite my having told him I didn´ t drink. Wirtz obviously had it out for me; and if he had any real concerns about my ability to do my job he was too cowardly to tell me to my face. I spent 9 weeks and much money to appeal to the FAA. My license was restored, which means that Wirtz was wrong. There are many good medical examiners out there for commercial pilots. Wirtz isn´ t one of them. Pilots, if you value your license, don´ t risk losing it by going to Wirtz. |
