| 2 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | Frightening scenes with client who is in initial assessment phase of becoming her patient: 5 appointments every 2 months required. Unable to communicate in English and returns disparaging comments about client´ s use of professional medical language " I feel Like I´ m talking to a doctor" without acknowledging that even medical professionals need a doctor. Her team will confirm your appointment despite not having lab results on file 6 weeks after being processed, then nurse will greet and let you sit with doctor who is angry because she wants the patient to understand she is still 3 visits away from your physical assessment and cannot possibly afford the time to talk to you about your painful knee and without lab results she can bill for your visit but doesn´ t have anything to see you for today. Doctor Ambreen sputtered about her " other 12000 patients" being " signed up" for care and then slams the door on her way out to let you sit there meekly waiting for the nurse who tells you that she told you that she didn´ t have any results so it is your fault for making the doctor mad. Apparently, the team manager does not consider the patient as part of the team only the nurses and doctor and office manager. The Manager has a round-table discussion that he has no time for because he is expected at another meeting now and yet has let you wait 30 minutes for this 2 minute meeting with the others in the team but expects you to realize your inadequacy rather than the legitimate complaint about being " punished" by the doctor who angrily. He asks you to put in writing. Dr. Ambreen is a doctor in her first year of community practice, who is unprofessional in her communications if she understands English at all. She has no sympathy after asking " How are you" because she doesn´ t want you to talk about pain unless it is during the physical assessment to be scheduled 4 months away. In summary, I wouldn´ t expect this doctor to be able to professionally and sympathically tell me " bad news" if I needed an honest talk about breast cancer or any health issue. The Family Team shows a reversal of nurse-doctor roles and patient scapegoating.....disorganized office and authority-power struggles evident in what is a VON sponsored Family Team practice. Yuk! Keep driving to Toronto and keep the local Emergency Department Doctor as backup...Don´ t go to Sauble. The Ministry of Health had their information meeting on Father´ s Day and published the advertisement the Wednesday before the meeting. Not good to disappoint Dad and go to a meeting at the last minute to voice my complaint. Hope this serves as helpful to someone sick or expecting a professional health team |
