Doctors are so busy these days. You´ d want them to have 30 minutes to sit with you and tell you everything about what´ s going on and what will happen in great detail but that just doesn´ t happen anymore with anyone. So, although I gave him an 8 for availability, it´ s not really him per se but rather just the medical industry in general. As they say, time is money... Dr. Sheskier is a talented surgeon and that´ s the most important thing here. He also explains things at whatever level you can comprehend which is also great. He´ s also funny and upbeat. We´ re happy that he was recommend to us and that we chose him to do the surgery. Thanks!

I considered myself blessed having to have met Dr. Sheskier because of his intregity and performance in his job, he´ s shown me, that he wants us to live a better and comfortable life! Thank you for helping others and myself getting better and giving us that confidence again, that we can walk better again. May GOD bless you and your family! Amen.....

your lucky if he answers your second question. By the third, he is out of the room.

I am an NYPD officer never had any problems with communication. His office staff very friendly and helpful always cooperative to any of my needs. Never put on hold for more then 30 seconds. Dr Sheskier and Dr Nick two of the best doctors i´ v had in a very long time. My injury dates back almost three years. The previous doctors I had in Staten Island did not help. (NEED I SAY MORE)

I was sent to Dr. Sheskier by my treating doctor for a second opinion on ankle surgery, and again by another treating doctor for his opinion on having the screws from my ankle removed. After that I made Dr. Sheskier my treating physcian because why use the rest when you can have the best. In the several years I have been his patient, I have received the very best care and treatment. He has gone above and beyond to help me with making sure I get treatment for my severe pain and discomfort. He truly cares about his patients. He takes his time with you during your appointments and carefully explains all necessary testing, evaluations and treatments so that there is no misunderstandings. He is simply wonderful and my only regret is that I did not know of him four years ago, because under his care I honestly do not believe I would be suffering from the complications of surgery.

He´ s a great surgeon, but his availablilty is horrendous, he barely talks to you, then most importantly his staff is incompentent!

Not the warm, fuzzy kind of doctor, but I would use him again, and would recommend him to anyone. Once you get past the fact that his interpersonal skills are not his strong suit, you realize how lucky you are to have found such an excellent doctor.

I went to Dr. Sheskier a year ago because I had pain while running. I could walk and do everything else without pain but I couldn´ t run. Dr. Sheskier did surgery on me six months ago. He told me I would be back on my feet in six weeks and the worst thing that could happen would be that the surgery does not work and I would not be able to run. Since the surgery, I have been in constant pain. Most days I can barely walk. I am unable to do any recreational sports or excercize. There are now bones in my ankle that rub, this did not happen before the surgery. When I complaint to Dr. Sheskier, he minimizes my complaints and walks out of the office.

Please think twice before doing surgery with Dr. Sheskier.

Dr Sheskier offered me what is called a limited ankle fusion which consists of an anterior plate wit a bone graft anteriorly in September 2008. After 8 months, assurances that the surgery was sucessful and multiple tests (Xrays, MRi, SONO, CT scan) to find out why I had TREMENDOUS pain and can´ t walk I sought a 2nd, 3rd, ad 4th opinion with simple Xrays i was told by prominent people I was not fused. I had a revision 3 weeks ago and feel better than I ever did. His office is very hard to get through to mostly answering service. The PA never washed his hands or wore gloves when doing contaminated dressing changes. DO NOT GOT TO THIS DOCTOR!!!

He was extremely friendly and family-like. I felt very comfortable for him to be my doctor.
He is nothing short of a LIFE SAVER

Plan on a wait at his office. However, the office is very helpful and saved me from going to the emergency room when my dressing after surgery got wet. You will receive the best care. He performed one opeartion two years ago and recently operated on my foot for a second condition. He is simplest the best othropaedic foot surgeon. Finally, for a " cutter" he does have more warmth and friendless than the average surgeon. Skill and ability are more important.

Doctor Sheskier performed bunion surgery on my foot over 10 years ago and I regret it to this day. I could forget that his staff was rude and incompetent, that he behaved in an unprofessional and uncaring manner (he´ s weird!) but I cannot forget that he did a terrible job on my foot and am reminded of it every day. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR.

I have been a patient of Dr. Sheskier´ s since 2001, after a referal from a terrific orthopedic surgeon who had done everything he could to save my foot following an accident in 1998. Dr. Sheskier was very upfront with me concerning an ankle replacement and possible future surgeries. I have had 17 so far and if necessary, more. I trust him completely!!!! I was surprised to read some of the patient comments and felt compelled to comment on my experiences with him and his staff. There have been changes in staff over the years, and I have had the pleasure of meeting most of them. We all have good days and bad, but Dr. Sheskier and his staff have been nothing but curtious, caring and friendly. I didn´ t think I would be able to do any of the things I do now, and It is because of the terrific medical care I continue to receive from Dr. Sheskier. THANK YOU!!!!! Tracy Mchale.

Dr. Sheskier was was recommended to me as the " go to" Dr. for an achilles reconstruction, not repair. He told me I had come to the right person and he could fix my achilles that had pained me for years. He said the worst scenario was that my achilles would stay the same but that it was unlikely that he could not totally relieve my pain. After the surgery I was in excruciating pain. 3 days later I went to the ER as no meds made it better. I went back to his office once a month for 4+ months and he totally blew off my pain. By the 7th month (still in a boot after 3 months of no weight bearing and cast) he finally did another MRI and said I had a tear in the Achilles. He said it would heal if I had another type treatment. He recommended ESWT shockwave therapy ($2500 out of pocket) that did not work. After 13 months of no improvement I went to another DR and was told that there were 3 stitches through the main nerve in my ankle where he stitched it together. The main nerve transferred pain to my whole foot. I had another surgery by the new DR to remove a portion of that nerve but still have terrible pain 3 1/2 years later and can wear only open back shoes. Wish I had never heard of this guy.

His availability is terrible, and so are his patient/doctor communication skills. God forbid you ask a question twice because he didn´ t explain an answer clearly, he seems so annoyed by it. He rushes you out of the room while you are still speaking at your appointment that you probably waited 45 min or longer for.

His office staff is incompetent, lacks compassion, and they barely look like they are interested in being there.
Go elsewhere. I am.
